GPS included vs. free tracking – what is the difference
SaveTrack has two offers that are easy to confuse. We put them side by side so it is clear what is included in each.
Two offers, two different costs
GPS unit included means you pay nothing for hardware with annual payment. The unit is ours for 24 months, you use it, and after two years you buy it for €1 excl. VAT — 12 paid months of service are enough.
Free tracking means the opposite: you pay no monthly fee for the service, but you provide the device and the data SIM yourself.
In other words – one offer includes the hardware, the other the software and server. Never both at once.
Side by side
Free version – €0 monthly fee, device and SIM on you, current position only every 5 minutes (no trip logbook, history, zones or notifications).
Paid version with annual payment – from €6/month per vehicle, device included (ours for 24 months, then bought for €1), SIM and data included with Europe, position every 60 seconds while driving.
Paid version with monthly payment – from €6/month, you buy the device outright for €60 to €78 depending on the model, everything else the same as with annual payment.
Both paid variants include the loyalty discount from €6 to €5 and down to €4 per vehicle, and neither has any lock-in.
Who the included unit suits
If you do not have a unit and would have to buy one, annual payment usually works out better – the hardware costs you nothing and the SIM and data are taken care of.
It is essential when you report kilometres: you claim vehicle costs, separate business and private journeys or need records that hold up under inspection. That requires the 60-second interval while driving.
After 24 months the unit is yours for €1 excl. VAT.
You can switch between them
Yes, at any time – there is no lock-in in either variant. A common path is to start with the free version on your own unit and switch to the paid one once you need an accurate trip logbook.
The other direction works too. If you bought the unit after 24 months, it stays yours and you can keep using it in the fee-free version with your own SIM; if the purchase has not happened yet, the unit comes back to us.

Can I have both the device and the service for free?
