How free GPS works

The offer is simple: if you pay for the service a year ahead, you get the GPS unit for free. You pay nothing for the hardware – no deposit, no surcharge.

With monthly payment you buy the unit. The indicative one-off price is €51 to €78 depending on the model. With annual payment that item disappears entirely.

The service itself starts at €6 per vehicle per month. Europe is included and you are not tied in in any way – annual payment is a choice, not a contractual commitment for years ahead.

How much you actually save

Let's count on one vehicle. With monthly payment you pay for the service plus the hardware as a one-off – €51 to €78 depending on the model. With annual payment the hardware is €0.

The saving therefore equals the price of the unit, and it lands right at the start, when the entry cost matters most. Across three vehicles we are talking roughly €150 to €230 saved.

On top of that comes the loyalty discount: the price per vehicle drops from €6 to €5 and gradually down to €4. The longer you use the service, the less you pay.

Which unit to choose

There are three types, differing in how they are fitted and what you expect from them.

The OBD unit plugs into the OBD-II diagnostic socket. You can do it yourself in seconds and move it to another car just as easily. Ideal if you do not want to touch the wiring.

The hard-wired unit is hidden and connected directly to the power supply. It is more resistant to being unplugged, which is an advantage for vehicle security.

The battery-powered unit needs no power from the vehicle at all. It suits trailers, construction machinery or anywhere there is nothing to connect to.

With annual payment any of these types is free – you choose by vehicle, not by price.

What else is included besides the unit

On the paid plan you do not have to deal with a SIM card or data – connectivity is part of the service, including Europe at no extra cost. So you need not watch roaming or buy data bundles when travelling abroad.

The position refreshes every 60 seconds, which gives a continuous route and accurate distances – the basis for a mileage log usable for tax purposes.

And since there is no lock-in, if the service does not suit you, you simply stop.

When monthly and when annual payment pays off

Annual payment makes sense almost whenever you know you will be tracking the vehicle long term. You save the price of the unit and have peace of mind for a year.

Monthly payment is right if you are unsure how long you will run the vehicle, or want to try the service with the option to stop month to month.
